Meet Brooke, the our newest addition to the FHITpro team! Brooke started her fitness career as a professional dancer and now joins us as a personal trainer specializing in HIIT and boxing. Get to know Brooke with her 21 Questions!
1. First FHIX experience?
I started my experience at Fhitting Room as a client about one and a half years ago. I had recently moved to NYC and was looking for group fitness classes. Fhitting Room was actually one of my first! I was first hooked by the workout, and then got to know the team and fell in love.
2. Who is your FHITspiration?
Ah! Very hard to choose, as I look up to many powerful females all for different reasons. But, my very first is my mom whom is an extremely driven, passionate, resilient, and accomplished boss lady. I wouldn’t be the person I am without her!
3. Personal theme song?
"All of the Lights" by Kanye West & Rihanna
My favorite artists are Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper, Drake, Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Justin Bieber.
4. Celebrity doppelganger?
I don’t really have one! But if I had to choose, due to my fro, it would be 90’s Beyoncé in Destiny’s Child (well at least I wish... hah!)
5. Favorite guilty pleasure?
Ice cream or froyo! 🍦
6. What is it about group fitness?
I LOVE group fitness. I like taking a group fitness class just as much as I like teaching one! There is nothing like feeding off of the energy in the room and pushing the athlete next to you. I always find that athletes work harder in a group environment. There’s something about the support and friendly competition that makes it so addicting.
7. Post workout snack?
I am not much of a “snacker.” I prefer eating full meals versus snacking. I eat about 5 full meals a day.
8. What's your sign? Do you read your horoscope?
Aquarius! I’m not much of a horoscope reader, but some of my friends are and when they read mine, I find it strangely accurate... But I always believe that everything happens for a reason!
9. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I am known for being very career focused and chasing after my dreams. Since the time I could set off on my own, I made sure my dream was my reality. I started working as a professional dancer, which was my dream since I was a little girl. The dreaming didn’t stop there. I had a minor set back, which was when I became inspired by fashion and became a designer at Ralph Lauren. I then got back into training and found a whole new love for fitness. I had a burning inside and knew I had to make it my career and share my passion with others. Becoming a full time fitness professional feels as though I’m living in a dream!
10. Perfect Sunday afternoon activity?
Taking a hip hop dance class and exploring the wonderful city we live in!
11. Best advice you ever received?
Never take “no” for an answer, and don’t stop fighting until you have conquered your dreams.
12. Most challenging exercise movement and why?
For a HIIT workout, every movement is attainable. You just have to give it time and enjoy the burn. 😉

14. Your biggest accomplishment?
I don’t like to think of one event as my biggest accomplishment; I appreciate the challenges along the way. Some of my most accomplished moments were pushing myself over hurdles and overcoming adversity, even when I wasn’t sure I had much more to give.
15. Favorite sneaker brand?
Nike, all the way.
16. What’s something someone would never guess about you?
I love to bake!
17. Favorite athlete?
So hard to choose one! Some of my favorites include: Heather Hardy, LeBron James, Serena Williams, Kaisa Keranan, Janelle Ginestra, and Chris Brown.

Buckeyes, an Ohio speciality!
20. If you could describe yourself with 1 emoji what would it be?
I could break it down on the dance floor all day long, so definitely the dancing man doing the disco: 🕺🏻

"Bennie and the Jets" by Elton John (but really any classic rock song that was blasted in the car growing up!)
