Try This Acai Bowl After Your Next Workout

In honor of #SmoothieSunday, we asked trainer Rich Alvarez to share the secret to his favorite smoothie recipe. Rich likes to grab his grub on the go between classes, so he opts for an açaí bowl from Juice Generation. Lucky for us, this recipe is just as easy to make as it is to buy!

The Almond Butter Bliss bowl is loaded with berries, bananas, and topped with coconut for a sweet finish.

🍇 1 açaí packet
🥜 1 scoop almond butter
🥛 1/2 cup almond milk
🍌 1 Banana 
🍓 5-7 strawberries 
✨ Small handful of hemp granola 
🥥 Top with coconut shavings

Nut butters, like the almond butter in this bowl, are an excellent source of healthy fat and protein. The double dose of almonds in this smoothie will also aid in recovering after a strenuous workout. Almonds also contain vitamin E, copper, and magnesium, the latter of which aids in muscle recovery.

Bananas are packed with fiber and potassium, which helps to restore electrolytes after an intense sweat session. The berries offer their fair share of benefits, too. Açaí berries contain powerful antioxidants that work to improve brain and heart health, while strawberries contain vitamins C and K, as well as providing a good source of fiber, folic acid, and manganese.
