Meet Our New FHITpro: Red

Alex Redelico a.k.a ‘Red’ is a New Yorker by way of New Jersey. She is a professional dancer turned FHITpro that believes movement is medicine. Her fitness faves include kettlebells, calisthenics, and cardio kickboxing. When she’s not doing ‘fitness things’, you can find her wrestling with her dog Rocky, eating and/or drinking something delicious, or tending to her excessive amount of houseplants. Her ultimate goal as a trainer is to help people discover the most capable version of themselves.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. 

I’ve got a couple. One, I was on the international tour of West Side Story so I got to travel the world and country doing what I love, dancing and performing. It was truly one of the best experiences of my life. Also fun fact, I got to do that with Dean Fit Machine which was an added bonus. Two, I have about 50 house plants in my apartment. 

Favorite food of all time?

So I love food SO SO much, so that’s a challenging question to answer. I love anything Mediterranean. I love fresh flavors! I also love pizza and a good caprese salad, all of that.

Favorite music to work out to? 

My personal favorite music to workout to, especially if I am lifting, is some heavy hitting hip-hop. In class I really like to get a good pump, anything you can really move to and is a little inspirational with a beat that makes you want to bop.

Favorite kettlebell move? 

I love a double kettlebell clean to squat. It makes me feel really powerful! Or a double kettlebell cluster. You feel really strong and in control  when you do them (with proper form, of course).

What can people expect in your class?

People can expect  to  learn something new. Plus, they can always  expect a fun multi-genre playlist, and some silly fitness puns.

Best piece of advice? 

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is no matter where you are in life, or your career, or age, you are never too old or too far along to continue to learn new things and grow in your profession or personal wellbeing. 

Why do you love Fhitting Room?

I love the community. When you come here there is such a good vibe. I also love the organization of it. There  is such a good flow, from the way the equipment is placed to the energy of the FHITpros all the way to the FHIXers. That’s something that hasn’t been matched in my opinion.

First FHIX experience?

I had become good friends with some fellow trainers that I met at an event and we would go to a class together once a week. Fhitting Room was one of the ‘stops on tour.’ 

During class there were so many laughs and the vibe was so much fun and comfortable. I loved it and after that tried to take as many classes as possible!

Go-to item you always carry in your workout bag? 

I always carry face wash, moisturizer, and SPF in my bag so after I get all sweaty I can wash my face and keep it so fresh and so clean (and so moisturized). ????
