Go-Green with Our Favorite Fitness Brands

Community • April 18, 2024

It IS easy being green! At Fhitting Room we bleed green day in and day out, but this Earth Day we especially acknowledge the vital and urgent need for sustainability within the fitness industry. As we strive to push our limits with every FHIX, we’re also pushing for a greener, more sustainable future. Here are just a few of our favorite apparel and accessories brands that fuel our workouts while championing eco-friendly practices.

Girlfriend Collective

We love Girlfriend Collective for their buttery soft leggings and inclusive sizing! All of their clothing is made from recycled materials like post-consumer water bottles, fishing nets retrieved from the seas, fabric scraps, and other waste. Their product pages break down the makeup of each individual item in a sustainability report so we know just what makes up the fits that power our fitness!

Dagne Dover

Us city-dwellers know just how important it is to have a backpack that can last from morning to night, and through all of our workouts in between. The folks at Dagne Dover have made the backpack super-stylish again with their neoprene design that provides ample space to keep your work and workout life organized. Many of their bags are 100% vegan, free of chemical dyes, and they even have an “Almost Vintage” section where you can buy pre-loved bags at a reduced price to encourage eco-friendlier fashion.

On is redefining the way we think about carbon emissions, by upcycling them to make sustainable shoes and apparel. They’ve introduced a menswear collection that uses 20% recycled carbon emissions that is lightweight and ultrasoft. They say that saving the planet is a team sport, and are making strides to move away from relying on fossil-based materials in our workout gear.

All good workouts are powered by a good base, and that starts even before you enter the studio! Allbirds offers sustainable and eco-friendly sneaker and shoe options to keep you light on your feet ahead of or after your workout with us. Made from sustainable resources like merino wool, trees, and sugarcane, they are revolutionizing where and what we source to create what we wear. They even use plastic water bottles to make their laces!
