The stress of holiday shopping can often overshadow what should be one of the most joyous times of the year. Finding the perfect gift for everyone on your list may seem impossible, especially with so many similar options to choose from. We pulled together our team of FHIT fanatics and tech wizards to create a condensed list of the top FHITness gifts for the 2013 holiday season.

When shopping for FHITness gifts, there’s no escaping the dominant presence of daily activity trackers. The difficulty isn’t in locating one of these savvy devices, but rather finding the best device to meet the needs of the specific recipient.

Fitbit vs. Nike+ FuelBand SE
Those who enjoy long runs outdoors can accurately measure activity using various apps such as Runkeeper, which tracks a run using GPS and creates data that can be easily shared with friends and other users. For other FHIXers and HIT-enthusiasts, the top two contenders for daily activity trackers are the Nike+ Fuelband and the FitBit, which involve a bit more than simply downloading an app. Here’s a brief comparison of the two gadgets and the different versions and accessories available with each brand.

Fitbit
The Fitbit device has a full range of models with basic to advanced capabilities. The Zip offers the least expensive, most basic functions, while the Force contains the most advanced settings a Fitbit device allows.
Zip - “Fun, simple tracker for everyone” $59.95
The most basic FitBit model, which tracks “steps, distance, and calories burned – and syncs those stats to your computer and select smartphones.”
One - “Advanced activity & sleep tracker” $99.95
Flex - “Stylish wristband that fits your lifestyle” $99.95
Force - “Advanced activity & sleep wristband” $129.95
The most advanced FitBit model provides “real-time stats right on your wrist. Track steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, stairs climbed and active minutes throughout the day. At night, track your sleep and wake up silently with a vibrating alarm.”
Aria - WiFi Smart scale $129.95
The Aria™ smart scale is an additional FitBit accessory which tracks “weight, body fat percentage, and BMI, painting a picture of your long-term progress. It wirelessly syncs your stats with online graph and mobile tools that help you stay motivated and on track.”
Fitbit Premium - “24/7 digital personal trainer, nutritionist and sleep consultant” $49.99/year

Nike+ FuelBand SE
Rose Gold Edition $169
The newest design of the Nike+ FuelBand SE is a prime example of FHITness fashion that makes the perfect transition from studio swag to street style. This Bluetooth-powered sport watch provides customizable, instant data on speed, distance, pace, heart rate and calories burned, while also mapping the route and elevation. The Nike+ program helps you locate new routes, create personal goals and utilize online training programs. You can then connect with friends using Nike+ groups to share results and monitor competition. The device also records sleeping patterns.
Basic Edition $149
This is the same exact design except instead of the rose gold, it is offered in volt, pink foil, total crimson and black.
