The group-fitness world is constantly looking for ways to entice more men to join the sweat fest. By integrating high intensity, strength training, challenging equipment, a dose of friendly competition, some big-@ss KBs, and the best of the best FHITpros, The Fhitting Room has its fair share of male FHIXers. We asked one of our most loyal male FHIXers, Adam Brenner, to share his FHIXperience and tell us why The Fhitting Room is his go to workout. 

What brought you to Fhitting Room?
I was having a difficult time motivating myself to go to the gym. I thought I should try group fitness, learned about The Fhitting Room from a friend and decided to enroll for my first Signature FHIX. I was immediately hooked.

What did you think of men in group fitness classes before you tried Fhitting Room?
Honestly, I didn’t give it much thought. It doesn’t make a difference to me if I’m surrounded by men or women in class, but I know the stigma is out there and can influence some guys one way or another.

Did your perspective about group fitness change after your first class?
Like anything else, going somewhere for the first time can be intimidating, like your first day of school in a new town. At TFR, I never felt like the new kid when I walked into the studio for the first time. Daury made sure to introduce himself, as instructors do with all first-timers, explained how the class was going to work and we were off.

I wouldn’t necessarily say my perspective changed, as I didn’t have too much of a preconceived notion going in, but I think keeping an open mind is important because you really never know what type of class or regimen is going to resonate with you.

Would you recommend TFR to other guys?
I would absolutely recommend TFR to anyone looking to improve their fitness level. This is the best shape that I’ve been in since college; I’ve lost weight, improved my energy level and increased my strength and muscle tone.

What do you get out of our classes?
I found myself going to the gym and spending more time on my phone than working out. Classes at The Fhitting Room are an engaging, total body experience, delivering a cardio and strength workout. The efficiency coupled with the variety just works for me. I never get bored, I’m constantly being challenged, and the instructors are legit. They look the part, work out hard, are hands on, knowledgeable, fun and seem to really care about all the clients. The instructors and the programs never disappoint.

One other big thing for me is the accountability factor. If I sign up, I’m going. It’s also difficult to hide in the two-instructor format which is something I really like as well.

Do you notice a difference in your day-to-day life in terms of agility and endurance?
Absolutely. I can do things I have never been able to before, and I feel amazing. While many people do strictly cardio-based workouts, I have found a love for HIIT workouts at TFR that incorporate both strength and cardio because they have yielded huge results in my overall health.

The Fhitting Room has become a staple in my life. While I do enjoy spinning and other forms of working out that provide fun and interactive environments, to me they are all supplemental.
