9 Ways Our Trainers are Celebrating the Holidays

We hope everyone in our FHIT family is having a fit and festive holiday season. To celebrate this time of the year, we sat down with all of our FHITness Pros to see what they love most about the holidays.

My favorite part of the Christmas holiday, aside from all of the family fun and festivities, would have to be the snow. I'm not talking about the city street slush you have to avoid stepping in when you step off the curb, I mean the flawless fields of blindly white snow that accumulates after a storm. Snow has always excited me. One of my favorite memories was waking up as a little-er version of me to snowflakes falling from the sky. Without snow, you wouldn't have snow sleds, snow balls, snow cones, snowman or my favorite of all, snow boarding. I always look forward to it every year and even judge a winter based on how much it snows.

I always look forward to spending quality time with my son and daughter during the holidays. We go to dinner, the movies, sometimes take in a show and do other fun things together. I’m especially looking forward to this year’s family time, as my son is in his first year of college, and has been living away from home for the first time.

Going ice-skating at Bryant Park with friends and family.  Then I love going shopping at the holiday shops after.

I love all the holiday performances in the city, especially The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center! I danced in the Nutcracker when I was younger and the music has always held such a special place in my heart. Seeing this classic ballet performed on one of the most iconic stages with the most incredible dancers is truly an inspiring experience.

My favorite part of the holidays is spending time with my family and watching my kids enjoy the lights and decorations that adorn the city the way I did when I was young (and still do!) We celebrate Hanukkah, and the kids’ love lighting the menorah and anticipating what little treat will come that night. Growing up, we always shared Christmas with friends and will willingly except any invitation extended our way. Don't be surprised if we show up with Christmas cookies at your door! Please take note, I love eggnog.

My favorite part is spending time with my mini-me Daury, and going to my mom’s house for Christmas dinner with the family.

My favorite part of the holidays is seeing the look on my nieces and nephew's faces when they open their gifts. I stay over my sister's house on Christmas Eve, and the look on their faces when they see Santa's footprints on the carpet and that the reindeer ate the carrots outside...I die! It reminds me that we should all embrace that childlike excitement about the little things as we go through life.

My favorite part of the holidays is spending Christmas Eve with my family. Each year, we order fajitas from my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant and watch It's a Wonderful Life together.

My favorite things about the holidays are the lights in the city, spending time with coworkers and friends, and doing charity work, like toy drives, that allow me to give to those who are less fortunate.
